Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Data Analyst (freelance or working student) to support our product, business and customer success teams with data-informed insights, using SQL, Metabase and Web Analytics.
What the role involves
- Help your colleagues find data using our data warehouse
- Write SQL queries for more advanced research that our self-serve tools can’t answer
- Build Models, to enable more self-serve exploration
- Define Metrics and Instrumentation for new and existing Steady features, working closely with our Product team
- Every now and then, you’ll consult our User Research team on how to gather and analyze quantitative research data
- Work with people across teams to build useful, actionable dashboards and reports
- Be showered with gratitude – for helping answer complex questions (we have many!)
Tech stack
- Metabase as our BI tool
- Postgres as our database
- Stitch for ETL
- Hightouch for Reverse ETL
- Plausible for privacy-friendly web analytics
Ideally you
- Have actively worked with data and the Modern Data Stack before – maybe in an internship at a product/SaaS company, or at Uni, in your spare time or in an open-source project
- Have pretty solid knowledge of SQL (maybe even Postgres)
- Know how to communicate and visualize data to others, so they can learn from it and take action
- Share our values of respect, gratitude and trial-and-error
- Like working with people from different teams and functions, especially our Product team and our Operations/Business team
- Research skills (quantitative/qualitative) are not required, but a big bonus!
We’re looking for part-time (~20h/week) for 3 months (July, August, September) with the possibility to extend longer – we’re building our data team and looking for people who are excited to build it with us. We can work with a freelance or a working student contract, depending on what suits you best!
